Adding a field for Hours to Tickets

It would be extremely useful to add an hours field to tickets used by the assigned person to annotate how many hours were spent on the ticket, even to the level of when adding comments to a ticket (showing progress). Then custom reports can be written to tabulate the number of hours logged for specific ticket attributes. If a project wanted to use this field, then it could be made to tie into the roadmap, but if it was unused, no big deal.


(I am not proposing adding all the project management hour type field like Estimated time to complete, estimated hours, actual hours, etc...)

In Trac 0.8 (or rather, the current development version), you can do this using custom ticket properties, see TracTicketsCustom.
